Melissa Albert, of Kissimmee, Florida, was crowned the 2012 Miss Silver Spurs on February 14^th 2012, and is a second generation Miss Silver Spurs. Through middle and high school Melissa was a member of Combee Rodeo Association,  Florida Junior Rodeo Association, Florida High School Rodeo Association, and Georgia Florida Youth Rodeo Association, to name a few. She qualified as a state finalist multiple times and was a part of the 2008 Gator Dawg National Rodeo Team that traveled to Shawnee, Oklahoma to compete in the International Finals Youth Rodeo. It was her love for the sport of rodeo that drove her to compete for the title of Miss Silver Spurs.

Melissa graduated from Harmony High School with honors in May of 2011. She was a member of the three-time regional champion weightlifting team and placed third individually at the state weightlifting competition in 2011. She has also graduated from Valencia College with honors completing an Associate in Arts Degree in 2012, and has been accepted to further her education at University of Central Florida- Rosen College of Hospitality Management. There she will dual major in Event Management and Hospitality Management with a minor in Marketing.

When she is not fulfilling her queen duties, in school, working, or on her horse, she enjoys the beach, fishing with her father and two brothers, painting, traveling, reading and exercising. She is excited about the opportunities to come within the next year of her rein as Miss Silver Spurs, traveling the state, and meeting many new people while promoting the Silver Spurs Riding Club and the sport of rodeo.
