The Silver Spurs Club is honored to recognize Peggy White as the 2025 Women’s Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. With an incredible 57 years of dedication to the Club, Peggy’s journey has been one of commitment, passion and deep ties to the traditions that make the rodeo community so special.
A Lifetime of Service
Born in Pennsylvania in 1947, Peggy moved to St. Cloud, Florida, in 1959, where her love for her new hometown quickly grew. After graduating from St. Cloud High School and Jones Business College, her life and career took her through a variety of roles, including 34 remarkable years with Walt Disney World.
In 1967, Peggy married Gene White, whose passion for agriculture and the Silver Spurs Rodeo introduced her to a new way of life. Together, they built a family steeped in rodeo tradition, with Gene and his siblings actively participating in the Silver Spurs Quadrille and Gene serving as the Big Boss in 1987.
Peggy’s commitment to the Silver Spurs Club began early, volunteering as an usher and later working in ticket sales, VIP services, parades, press events and even hosting Miss Rodeo America queens. Always eager to lend a hand, Peggy joined her friends Lois Hall and Joyce Marie Bronson to manage the Hospitality Room for rodeo contestants and members. Whether pausing her accounting duties to watch her sons ride in the Quadrille or sharing laughs with lifelong friends, Peggy has always exemplified the spirit of community.
Legacy Carries On
The rodeo legacy runs deep in the White family. Peggy and Gene’s sons, Heath and JJ, followed in their parents’ footsteps, riding in the Pee Wee and Adult Quadrilles and contributing their time to the Club.
Today, Peggy beams with pride as her four grandchildren continue to uphold the family’s rodeo traditions. For Peggy, the Silver Spurs Rodeo has been more than an organization; it’s been a family. Congratulations, Peggy, on this well-deserved honor!
About the Silver Spurs Club
Rooted in Osceola County’s ranching heritage, the Silver Spurs Club has been a cornerstone of the community since 1941. This all-volunteer organization was founded on the principles of service, camaraderie and a deep respect for rodeo culture.
Each year, dedicated members come together to produce the Silver Spurs Rodeo, one of the oldest and largest rodeos held east of the Mississippi River. Whether helping behind the scenes or riding in the arena, Silver Spurs Club members play a vital role in keeping the spirit of the American West alive for future generations.
