The Silver Spurs Rodeo has its fair share of legendary rough stock performers, each with their own remarkable story. These animals have made a lasting impression on the rodeo community and embody the true spirit of competition.
Bull L25, known as Partin's Pride, shared the title of the bull of the NFR. However, Doug's chance to secure the championship buckle came down to a coin toss. Ultimately, Doug sold this remarkable bull, possibly to Paradise.
"Cold Cold Heart" was the toughest bull the Silver Spurs ever had. He earned his reputation as a true eliminator. So fierce was he that neither the NFR nor the PBR could fully contain his power. James Harper was advised against bringing him back to PBR events. Riders had to pay an additional fee just to face him in the arena, but no one could conquer him, not even come close.
A2 Patty, a small but impressive Bareback horse, was known for her remarkable performances. Riders consistently scored in the high 80s when they climbed aboard. She was celebrated as the horse of the year at both the RAM National Circuit finals and Southeastern Circuit finals.
73 Lorena was a versatile horse that excelled in both Bareback and Saddle Bronc events. Her achievements include making it to the NFR and earning the title of Southeastern Circuit finals horse of the year multiple times.
#51 Shang Copenhagen, a standout Bareback horse, found himself in the TV pen at the NFR and consistently earned high marks, especially in his first round. He was a regular at the Southeastern circuit finals, where he continued to shine, captivating rodeo enthusiasts with his performances.
914 Best Hope was a Saddle Bronc horse that presented a formidable challenge. Riding him was a test of skill, and those who managed to stay aboard were rewarded with scores in the high 80s or low 90s. His achievements include being a 2-time NFR horse, high marked at the NFR, and awarded rank horse of the finals at the RAM National Circuit finals. He also secured titles as the Southeastern Circuit Finals Horse and Saddle Bronc Horse of the Year.
20 Skoals Canoe was a bull that made it to the NFR not just once but twice. His highlight was scoring a remarkable 46.5 at the PBR in Tampa, solidifying his place among the elite rodeo performers.
K02 Hang 'm High was a bull of legendary status. With only two riders out of 23 attempts, his reputation as a formidable challenge was well-deserved. If a rider managed to stay on him, they were likely to score in the 90s. His impressive resume includes being a 2-time NFR bull, high marked in a round at the NFR, and regular appearances at the RAM National Circuit Finals and Southeastern Circuit Finals.
5 Billy was a bull who made it to the NFR and earned the prestigious title of Chevrolet all-star bull, signifying his place among the top 15 bulls in the country. More than 30 years ago, he was the source of numerous 90-point rides and garnered multiple circuit finals bull of the year awards, leaving a lasting legacy in the world of rodeo.
